1. Before you begin – get your mind-set right.
[ Be Neutral – Open to Receive without Prejudice]
2. Get the other person to talk as much as possible!
3. Right question at the right time for the right reason.
There is a ton of research done on eye movement and facial expressions, however we use an easier to comprehend and a more accurate way of deducing how somebody feels when the right question is asked at the right time for the right reason under the right conditions/environment.
We first identify an issue when we see something that is questionable, we then repeat the question to ensure the deduction is valid. You should see the same reactions but not necessary the same words.
When a person tries to conceal an emotion then we have to discover the ‘why’.
It is far easier to use the right question at the right time for the right reason under the right conditions (environment) to seek a specific reaction and then we can determine the why.
Keep your eyes open for the Tight-Lipped or when you feel that the person is hiding something.
