The United States of America do have a mixture of various cultures, therefore, there are no major common ”American” gestures that stand out.
South America contains many countries. Some countries have a strong Spanish influence. In general the world sees South Americans as passionate and tactile people.

-The “O.K.” and “thumbs up” gestures are considered vulgar.

– Hitting the palm of the left hand with the right fist displays, “the other person cannot be trusted or their remarks are stupid”
