Where were you last night?

”I was at home”

”Home?”, she asked with a confused look.
(The last word is repeated on purpose as wanting the  person to elaborate more)

 Solid challenging stare

”Yes, I was home and alone – why do you not believe me”

”Why do you never believe me when I say something”

”You are always doing this – When I Say I was alone then I was alone!”

She thinks to herself, ”Cannot see his hands – they are behind the subjects back
I do not believe him, I am going to challenge him.
Perhaps he was at home but something is ’edging on’ his conscience
– he is being defensive.
I want to know why he is lying”

She asks, ”Why are you being so defensive?
What were you doing at home?”

 ”I cannot tell her”

 ”I was watching TV”

Embarrassed/Shame

”What were you watching?” she questions

Lying – He is fumbling his words and finding it difficult to swallow

”I know you were online gambling” she says.
(Calling his bluff)

A flashed display of scorn in milliseconds
” If I want to gamble then I will. You just wasted money on new shoes. I can afford it !” he says to her.

He was scared to admit the truth
He was doing something he was not supposed to be doing .
Online Poker again ? He is a gambler and promised to quit!
